everyone, welcome to my blog number Six, today I will to talk about of
Postgraduate studies in odontology, but
an area which I am personally is very interested,
this is Implantology…..But what is the implantology?
Well this
is an area of rehabilitation in dentistry who focus on planning, location and
maintenance of dental implants, those that are used to restore and replace losing
teeth by big caries or cavities, traumas or periodontal disease.
The
material used in implantology are a titanium screw and ceramic pieces and
method of bone-integration of the screw in the mandibular or maxillary bone.
I like this
area because the implants are a method definitive for restore esthetic in the
smile and the function of mastication, important for the life and development
of the people.
But,
Implantology not is perfect, there is something that I dislike, the amount of
money involved, is a very expensive solution compares to prostheses, and in
generally people cannot pay for an implant.
Other area
that I like is Public Health in odontology because regrettable here in Chile,
the preventive policies are scare in oral health, I would like to change this
situation, educate of the people for prevent them from losing teeth, and I believe
that is most important to prevent that restore, the idea is which the people
keep your teeth for life.

what specialty do you like?
Yes i see you like an implantologist. But you can do it in the public health. They will not pay you so much but you will be helping.
